Cunard Line: "The LUSITANIA" by Colin Simpson, First American Edition published in 1972, hardbound with 300 pages, book in very good condition while the original dust jacket shows soiling and some rips. According to the dust jacket, "With explosive and meticulous documentation, London Sunday Items correspondent Colin Simpson unearths the story of a monumental exercise in political cynicism, a record of arrogance, ignorance, and expediency that indicts dozens of high government officials in both England and America." Whew! Simpson's theory about the sinking is still controversial: "Simpson demonstrates that the LUSITANIA was unstable, improperly designed, badly staffed, and loaded with munitions for the Allies." Always a good book for a late night read and a staple for every ship book collection.
