Misc: "The Offical Steamship Guide" began publication in the early 1930s when ship travel was king. By the time this 1976 edition was printed, the industry had just undergone a sea change from transport to cruising. While the 1968 guide had 110 pages and schedules are how to sail from Rio to Karachi, this guide has slimmed down to 76 pages and mainly covers cruising. The schedules for about 150 different companies are listed here, from Adriatica and Alands Linjen to Woods Hole Steamship Authority and Yugoslav Line. Most of the companies also have ads, many with ship photos. There is a list of the few port-port routes still left, there is also a list of freighter travel between ports. Amazingly, the guide is still printed today.
