NDL: An important early agency portrait, the earliest print I have ever offered. Although unidentified, I believe the ship to be the ALLER, NDL's superliner of 1886 and the first transatlantic ship to be fitted with triple expansion engines. The ALLER was scrapped in 1904. This engraved print shows great detail from the officers on the bridge to the complicated rigging to the passing shoreline. The line name appears on the bottom and the print has a copyright date of 1889. Overall mreasurements are 32" by 49". The heavy oak frame is in excellent condition. The print has been rematted. Excellent condition with the exception of a few small brown age spots. Professional packing and shipping extra.
