United States Line: A full hull model of the UNITED STATES built from a kit popular in the 1950s. Some of these kits have a light bulb inside but the long ago builder of this ship decided to forgo the unimpressive plastic stand and shaky electronics for a nicely crafted wooden base. Amazingly, all the pieces are intact. Usually anchors, propellers, lifeboats, booms, masts, and even stairways fall off but they are all here. Even the proper decals are in place - funnel grilles, railings, and of course the ship's name on both the bow and the stern. The paint job is ok but obviously the work of a hobbyist. Glue marks around the superstructure have yellowed. 28 1/2" long, 9" high.
