Costa Line: A 16 page deck plan dated September 1970 for the CARLA C, the former French Line ship FLANDRE. Costa bought the vessel in 1968, renamed her CARLA C and put her through an extensive rebuilt. In late 1968 Costa leased the ship to the fledgling Princess Cruise Lines. While advertised as the PRINCESS CARLA, the ship kept her Costa name on the hull. Following the destruction of the FULVIA in 1970, Costa ended the charter and brought the CARLA C into the cruise fleet. This inaugural brochure features several pages of color interior photos. Gone are the ornate French interiors of 1952, replaced by mid-century modern laid-out by famed Italian designer Nino Zoncada. Beautiful artwork adorned public room walls, and several pieces are visible here including Lele Luzzati's large ceramic in the Observation Lounge. Color-coded plans show eight decks. The brochure is in good condition.
