North German Lloyd: A fold-out deck plan printed on heavy stock paper for both First and Tourist classes. The plan unfolds to 5 panels to reveal a color starboard portrait of the ship which shows off her unusually large single funnel, a design feature retained when the ship was rebuilt from the French PASTEUR. There are 16 pages containing plans and b&w photos of her sleek mid-century interiors. Like the HANSEATIC, the rebuilding and launch of the BREMEN in 1958 was a source of great national pride in a Germany struggling to recover from the war. This BREMEN, the fifth to carry the storied name for NDL, sailed until the line combined with former rival Hamburg American Line to form Hapag Lloyd in 1970. The aging ship was soon sold off to Chandris, who sailed her for just a few years as REGINA MAGNA. She proved troublesome and expensive to operate and was sent to the breakers. This plan is in mint condition.
