Ship History: "The Atlantic Liners" by Frederick Emmons, published in 1972, hardbound with original dust jacket, 160. Emmons' book is a great reference for any ship buff who enjoys north Atlantic passenger ships. He profiles 336 ships with a short bio containing stats and major events. Most ships also get a profile drawing by Emmons. The main transatlantic companies also get a short bio. Of course all the biggies are in here: NORMANDIE, UNITED STATES, AQUITANIA and so on, but a lot of the joy in this book is to find out about lesser known vessels such as MARLOCH, SEYDLITZ, and JUAN SEBASTIAN ELCANO.
