Eastern Steamship Lines: A brushed stainless steel Windette cigarette lighter having the lines house flag with a "L" in center for "Lovett", the family that owned the line. This would place the lighter from around 1962 as later in the decade an "E" for Eastern replaced the "L". In 1962 the line was a pioneer in the Miami cruise industry. Back then most Caribbean cruise ships sailed out of New York, thus suffering through several days of cool weather while the ship headed to the tropics. Eastern sailed a series of converted older ships on inexpensive cruises from the old Pier 3 in Miami and provided tropical weather the whole time. The lighter mechanism inside appears to be stuck. 2" tall.
