P&O Line: Hawaiians watching a gorgeous sunset framed by a pair of native statues with an outrigger thrown in for good measure fills this 25" by 37" travel agency poster. The poster is from the early to mid 1970s when P&O dramatically slashed its traditional fleet and repositioned itself as a cruise line. The ARCADIA of 1954 offered the cruises promoted here, sailing from the West Coast of America and Canada. Notice the new company name - "P&O & The British Cruise Line". The jumbo jet and soaring fuel costs had killed off the company's traditional line voyages. Happily, the company (and competitor Holland America) was one of the few to successfully make the transition. The poster is in good condition with just a little wear around the edges.
