French Line: Like most transatlantic companies, by 1970 the French Line was trying to keep her fleet going by booking more cruises. This little fold-out brochure covers their 1970-71 Caribbean, Africa, and South America cruises aboard the huge FRANCE and soon-to-be sunk ANTILLES, plus Paquet's RENAISSANCE and MERMOZ. There are seven cruises listed for the FRANCE, ranging from a 2 + day "Mini Cruise" from New York to Quebec in November 1970, to the grand 39 + day "La Croisiere Imperiale" in March of 1971. Besides the winged funnel cover, there is a tropical portrait of the ship along with a few interior views, including a massive Promenade Deck buffet. The ANTILLES shows seven Caribbean cruises from November 1970 until January 1971. Alas, that last mentioned cruise was also her last voyage. On January 8th she struck an uncharted rock off Mustique and caught fire. All lives were saved but the ship was destroyed. Several cruises are also listed for the perky little Paquet ships.
