Italian Line: A fold-out interiors brochure from the late 1950s - early 1960s showing all three classes. There is a large portside portrait of the Italian beauty. Inside are 21 color and b&w photographs showing public rooms and sample cabins from all classes. The ship mainly sailed the South America run but from 1957 until the arrival of the new LEONARDO DA VINCI in 1961 the ship filled in on the North American route for the sunken ANDREA DORIA. Did you know that this ship still exists, the last remaining ship from the Italian Line? Since the late 1990s it has been docked in Manila. For a short time it was a hotel but now I believe it is in moth-balls. On www.maritimematters.com, Peter Knego provides a wonderful before and after tour of this great ship. Look at this brochure and just imagine that all this beauty still exists, hidden away. In very good condition.
