French Line: Although little appreciated today and mostly forgotten, the French Line's ANTILLES was a gorgeously decorated ship. Surrounding the big Michel Lezla cut-away are 17 big color interior photos. The richness in design shows that CGT was looking back to the 1930s for inspiration. The two suites shown here are dazzling. The four other cabins shown are beautifully detailed with choice veneer and artwork. The First Class public rooms shown include the Dining Room, Smoking Room, Library, Children's Playroom, Lounge, and Bar. The Cabin Class Smoking Room and Salon are also shown. The cutaway unfolds to 25" by 46" and because of the large size you can really appreciate all the detail Lezla put into it. Public rooms, cabins, suites, small get-aways, the officers' territory behind the bridge, even big American cars in the garage are shown here. The flip side features a large route map, a color portrait of the ANTILLES in her white livery, and destination photos. The large thick stock cover shows a section of her starboard side. Overall in very good condition although as is typical for these big items, the cutaway has come loose from the folder. It was held in place by only two little glue spots and it is hard to notice it was ever attached. I have two of these to offer, one in French and the other in Italian.
