United States Lines: Joesph Whittlesey and his wife took a trip-of-a-lifetime to Europe aboard the UNITED STATES in the fall of 1953. They traveled Cabin Class and had such a great time that they saved in a special box menus, passenger lists, and onboard newspapers for 54 years. Recently they passed everything over to me and now it is available for your enjoyment. This is a set of items from that 1953 voyage - a Gala Dinner menu with the Alywine portrait; breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus (all with red, white and blue designs and gold highlights) plus a copy of the "Ocean Press", all from the same voyage in September-October 1953, and finally a Cabin Class passenger list. Commodore John Anderson was the captain. The ship must have been full as I count 600 passengers in Cabin Class alone!
