AMERICA: 1939<br>Menu set '51
United States Lines: A menu set from a single day during a June 1951 crossing on the AMERICA. Professor Pianca of Dartmouth College took his family to Europe that summer, and his daughter Alicia diligently saved the menus. There are three in this set - a breakfast and lunch card, plus a dinner menu with the ship name and portrait on the cover, all with matching dates. The good professor traveled First Class so the menu choices are extensive and varied. While not matching the levels found on the French Line or Cunard ships, the AMERICA'S galley put out elegant American themed cuisine that matched their passenger's palates. There is a little soiling to the cover; otherwise in very good condition. Several sets available.
