Admiral Line: A 5 +" long silver plate teaspoon made by International Silver with the line's name and houseflag on the handle. This spoon came from the Admiral Line's onboard silver service and would have been used in the 1920s and early 1930s on such famous ships as H.F. ALEXANDER, affectionately known as the "Galloping Ghost" for her great speed. The line's fortunes waxed and waned throughout the mid-war years. While ships such as the H.F. were popular, several of the line's other vessels sank with loss of life. The Admiral Line finally closed down in the mid-1930s. This spoon, perhaps slipped into the pocket of a passenger many decades ago, shows wear to the logo but otherwise is in very good condition.
