Canadian Pacific: A log abstract for a voyage from Montreal and Quebec to Greenock and Liverpool in August. 1966. Looks like a storm tossed voyage as the ship encountered a force 7 "rough sea" on August 12. The EMPRESS OF ENGLAND was the least successful of the 3 sister ships built by Canadian Pacific post-war. She was sold out of the fleet after only 13 years and sailed for Shaw Savill as the OCEAN MONARCH for a short time. She headed to the breakers in 1975 after only 18 years of service. Her younger sister EMPRESS OF CANADA sailed for 43 years for a variety of owners while her older sister, EMPRESS OF BRITAIN, still sails today at age 52 as THE PEACE BOAT.
