Canadian Pacific: An unused postcard from the famous "Hands Across the Sea" series. The EMPRESS OF BRITAIN was the luckier sister from CP's transatlantic duo of 1906. Her twin, EMPRESS OF IRELAND, sank in 1914 with a loss of 1024 lives. The EMPRESS OF BRITAIN sailed for 23 years before hitting the breakers in 1930. She was broken up in Stavanger, Norway, and the Sola Strand Hotel dismantled her Smoking Room and rebuilt at their facility. You can still visit it today. A little wear around the edges.
