Ship History: From the Frank Braynard files, a panoramic view of Liberty Ships in laid-up. The site is probably up the Hudson River at Jones Point where the U.S. Government maintained a large reserve fleet. I count 15 ships tied together in the first row, and there were many rows behind them. Passenger liners, such as the MANHATTAN and WASHINGTON, were also laid-up here, although none are visible in this photo. Most of these left-over WW2 vessels never sailed again. 4" by 12".
