Various Lines: A collection of brochure pertaining to French ferries. The first is a 42 page booklet given out to passengers on the cross-channel car ferry COMPIEGNE during 1961-62. The brochure has menus for the ship's restaurants, a wine list from the bars, prices for non-duty items in the gift shop, route maps, and period advertisements for hotels, perfumes, and booze. The second is an undated concept brochure for the French company SNCM. It unfolds to three panels with renderings of cabins, public rooms, and the somewhat odd looking ship. The next is an intro brochure from 2004 for the new SEAFRANCE BERLIOZ Calais-Dover ferry. The covers are an expensive see-through onion skin. Inside there is a profile of the new ship with key areas marked off. The final items is a four page concept brochure for the MARION DUFRESNE which appears to be a research vessel with luxury fittings. The text in the COMPIEGNE brochure is in English and French while the other 3 are in French. All four brochures are in very good condition.
