Stained glass

Furness-Prince Line: Hawaiian stained glass artist and ship buff Jim Oxborrow often takes his inspiration from stylized design on steamship brochures covers. Italian Line fans will recognize his MICHELANGELO/RAFFAELLO stained glass window, available on this site, as similar to a brochure cover from the mid-1960s. My favorite window, hanging right now in my kitchen, is based on a United Fruit Company brochure from the 1930s. Now here is his latest original masterpiece, a stylized view of a ship's captain with a Prince Line funnel behind him. The window measures 12 1/2" by 16 3/4". Jim Oxborrow has lived on Maui since 1995, and has studied under master stained glass artist Lisa Howard. He is currently showing at the Lahaina Art Society, and just wrapped up the Watershed Foundation Show which toured Maui for 4 months. As an avid collector of everything ocean liner and a stained glass artist, his goal is to create in glass the beauty of these grand dames of the sea, both big and small. All windows are done in the old "Tiffany" style and are ready to hang. This window is being made available at a special price. Shipping quotes available upon request.
