Ship History: A set of three companion books published in England by Appleton Century in 1938-1940 as part of the Sampson Low "Dumpy" series. These are the maritime titles published in the series and together they form an extensive overview of the world's shipping in the years just before WW2. They are by famed ship author E.C. Talbot-Booth. The first is called "Ships and the Sea" is full of fold-out charts, graphs, and drawings of ships and navigation. There is an extensive list of shipping companies world-wide and their fleets, plus fold-out pages featuring color drawings of house flags. Talbot-Booth's second book is "All the World's Fighting Fleets" and as the title implies, covers hundreds of ships owned by navies 'round the world. His third book is "Yachts, Yachting, and Sailing" and is filled with photos of yachts, fold-out maps, and fold-out color charts of yachting burgees. Each book is about 750 pages and each is in good condition. What an amazing compilation!
