American Export Line: A fold-out deck plan(17" by 21") dated April 1931 showing four different plans for the line's combo ships. The top plans shows the 21-cabin passenger accommodations onboard the EXARCH, EXILONA, EXCELSIOR. On the bottom left is a two deck plan for the EXPORTER, in the center is a simple plan for the EXANTHIA, while on the far right was a plan for the sixteen "Hog Island" ships converted from left-over WW1 stock. The Mediterranean service provided by these ships was popular enough that also in 1931 American Export introduced their famous "FOUR ACES" with much larger passenger space. This service peaked in 1951 when the company introduced their most famous passenger liners, CONSTITUTION and INDEPENDENCE. Other than a few little holes at the folds, this plan is in very good condition.
