French Line: A fold-out cruise deck plan from the late 1960s covering the entire ship with no mention of class divisions. The FRANCE took many cruises during her CGT career, ranging from shorty 2 + day bargain jaunts to elegant cruises around the world. It would have been fun to cruise onboard her and have full run of the ship. This plan also includes 9 photos ranging from an aerial portrait to cabin and public room views. The elegant Chambord Restaurant is shown in all her circular glory. That wonderful gold paneling is visible in the background. Interesting story - someone recently paid a lot of money to buy the restaurant paneling from the ship breakers in Alang. When they got the crate back home at great expense they opened it up, only to discover that the paneling was a photo copy mounted on plywood. It appears that Norwegian Cruise Lines removed the paneling in some past retrofit. What to bet it is gracing the dining room of some NCL executive?
