Holland America Line: A scalloped edge souvenir ashtray or pin tray with a portrait of the ship at sea. 4" by 5" and back stamped Royal Falcon Ironstone of England. Interesting that this item was not made in Holland. In a bid to survive when so many transatlantic lines went under, in the 1970s Holland America turned exclusively to cruising and moved their headquarters from Rotterdam to Seattle, Washington. The company no longer represented the country, and one result is that souvenir such as this one would have been made by the lowest bidder regardless of the country. Of course today it would say China on the bottom.
