Ship History: In the 1970s Texaco offered a series of prints of historic ships. This one is of the SAVANNAH, the first ship to use a steam engine when crossing the Atlantic. The ship carried limited fuel so was able to operate the steam engines for 80 hours of the voyage. The SAVANNAH was not a commercial success and finished off her years as a sailing ship with the engines removed. 10" by 12 3/4".
