Ship History: "Ships and the Sea", Fall 1958, 64 pages. The lead article is called "Follow the Leader" and is the shocking story of how a Navy formation in 1923 ended up on the rocks. The ships were steaming fast up the California coast following the lead ship. A miscalculation on a radio fix placed the ships much closer to the shore than expected. One after another, seven ships crashed into the rocks and were destroyed. Many fascinating photos. Many other articles including a feature on New Zealand's Union Steamships, the Plimsoll mark, and how to build a model Liberty Ship. New ships entering the port of New York included Grace's SANTA ROSA and American Banner's ATLANTIC.
