Ship History: "The Ship That Hunted Itself" by Colin Simpson, published in 1977, hardbound with original dust jacket, 206 pages. The story of the famous WW1 sea battle between Cunard's CARMANIA and Hamburg Sud's CAP TRAFALGAR, a battle that ended with the sinking of the CAP and massive destruction to the CAR. By sheer coincidence, the captains of both ships decided to disguise their vessel to look like the other. The battle also convinced naval authorities that passenger liners did not make suitable armed cruisers. A well written and very readable story. The binding is coming loose on this book.
