Cunard: "Sketching in Ireland, Scotland, and England" by Frank Braynard, published in 1996, hardbound with 178 pages. Famed ship historian Braynard also has a passion for sketching. In his words, "Drawing has run a close second to my chief passion - ships. Needless to say, drawing ships is the cream in my coffee. But I love drawing cathedrals, little old houses, just about anything." This book covers hundreds of sketches he made while on trips to the British Isles. The book starts off with 12 drawings aboard the QE2, inclduing several that show off her early Jetsons-modern interiors. Interspersed throughout the book are other nautical subjects - onboard the ferry SCILLONIAN III, sailing ships in Portsmouth Harbour, a steamer in Loch Lomond. This book with its beautiful gold stamped cover was privately printed by Frank and is part of a series of books that I am selling for the Braynard family.
