Canadian Pacific: A collection of paper from the ship's final cruise for Canadian Pacific before being sold out of the fleet. This "Valentine Cruise" departed Liverpool on February 14, 1970, sailed to warmer waters, and then returned on March 4. After that she went to Shaw Savill which spent a lot of money retrofitting her for one-class cruise service as the OCEAN MONARCH. In her later role the ship was a failure and went to the breakers in 1975, far sooner than her sisters who lasted decades longer. This collection of paper includes a log abstract for the cruise, 17 daily program guides, a deck game rule booklet, and 2 information brochures. Everything comes tucked into a cute blue paper bag with the CP name on one side. Her sister EMPRESS OF CANADA sailed for CP just one more year before closing out the company's transatlantic service.
