Holland America Line: From a Rotary International cruise aboard the elegant NIEUW AMSTERDAM in May 1953, a bound collection of shore excursion guides. They belonged to Rotarian W.R. Bussewitz of Horicon, Wisconsin, who kindly wrote his name on the folder cover. Mr. Bussewitz occupied Cabin 323, a single tucked down on B Deck away from the high rent territory. The good Sir sailed from New York into the Mediterranean and then jumped ship in Lisbon. Tucked into the back of the folder are daily copies of "The Mediterranean Mercury" which provided more detailed port information and a daily program. There are some tears to the cover but the contents are all in excellent condition. For good measure I have tossed in an aerial photo of the ship.
